I am Ray Adam — author, filmmaker, and storyteller. My work connects historical events with mythology, time, and the question of how closely truth and fiction are intertwined.
1970s
Where the first stories began
In my early twenties, I stood on stage as a keyboard player in a rock band. Music was my first way of telling stories — not through words, but through sound, atmosphere, and emotion. Even then, it was never just about entertainment. It was about impact.
1980s
From musician to filmmaker
In my mid-thirties, I moved behind the camera. As a director and cinematographer, I began to tell stories visually. I learned how images create tension, how worlds emerge – and how to make them feel real. These experiences continue to shape every project I create.
1990s
The essential things
In my forties, life became quieter — and clearer. My dog became my most loyal companion.
And something changed: the focus turned inward. The most important stories do not begin in the outside world. They begin in silence.
2000s
When thoughts become a world
In my fifties, I began to write. At night. Alone. Under the open sky – accompanied only by the light of a lamp and my thoughts.
It was there that the world of Schattenmächte emerged: a story that connects historical reality with myth and hidden structures. What began as an idea … became a universe.
TODAY
Without her, this story would not exist
Today, I live with my wife Karin. She is not only my partner, but an essential part of this journey. Without her support and her presence, this work would never have come into being. Together, we have built something that reaches far beyond a book.
A story greater than a book
Schattenmächte is more than a trilogy. It is a growing universe of film, music, and narrative. And perhaps it is also an invitation – to see the world from a different perspective.
